While sitting at my desk watching the snow come down I am reminded of how much I love snow! I know many of you do not share in my love of snow but it has always filled me with a sense of slowing down, refreshing and cleansing. For those who are receiving snow, stay in, stay safe and enjoy time with your family.
I have a few messages for you:
First, it is time for you to register! Believe it or not the conference is only 23 days away. Please register soon!
T-Shirts have to be ordered next week. You will love the color and design celebrating the 30th year of Hearts On Fire. If you haven’t visited the website recently you will see a new promo video uploaded on the Charleston page as well as the T-Shirt design.
Ken Freeman and Scott Carter are very excited about sharing God’s word with you. In saying that, if any of you would like for Ken Freeman to speak at your church on Sunday he is willing to stay over to join you. Please email me at email@example.com. for more information. What a great opportunity to have such a wonderful speaker in your pulpit.
Check out the websites of the AFTERS, MIKESCHAIR and the JJ Weeks Band. They are very excited and planning a great afternoon of concerts.
If you attended two years ago you enjoyed the worship music of Zac Bennett and the Lift Live. They are ready to bless your hearts again and send your youth group home with a renewed love for great music and songs you can sing in your own group.
The Christmas Holidays are now over and tonight will bring in a new year. Time certainly does go quickly! 2016 will bring in a year of new beginnings and a fresh start for everyone. Let’s make this a year like no other. Let’s give Christ first priority in our hearts and lives this year.
One of the first priorities for all youth leaders within 300 miles of Charleston, SC should be to register your youth for Hearts On Fire. This year marks the 30th year since Scott Carter answered God’s call in his life to begin a youth conference. It has grown tremendously during that time but the mission has stayed the same, to reach middle school and high school students with the gospel of Christ and to encourage believers to walk in the truth and integrity of Christ. Those who attend the Charleston conference will be blessed by having Scott Carter as one of their speakers this year.
Ken Freeman will be speaking at the conference on Friday evening. Ken is a very exciting speaker with a passion to tell others about Jesus. Following Ken on Twitter will make you wonder if he ever slows down. His tweet today said that last night he saw over 300 saved. God has blessed Ken with the ability to connect to people of any age group, culture, or background. Ken Freeman lives with a passion to bring people to know Christ and to make a deeper, more intimate, commitment to Him. Your youth group will go home with a desire to serve God that will certainly spill over into the entire church body.
Zac Bennett the worship leader at The Lift, First Baptist Indian Trail, NC, will lead Hearts On Fire Charleston worship services. Zac Bennett & the Lift Live joined us a few years ago and they were amazing. Their music will certainly prepare your heart for worship.
On Saturday afternoon, February 13 we will have three groups in concert, the AFTERS, MIKESCHAIR and the JJ Weeks Band. What a great way to start off 2016 with your youth group, two days, two speakers, praise and worship and three concerts, all for only $40. Make your plans now to attend. Register online at www.heartsonfireministries.org or call 865-776-2629 to answer any questions you might have regarding the conference at Charleston Southern University, Lightsey Auditorium.
We wish each of you and your youth groups a Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you in Charleston.
Where has the time gone? The appointed deadline for the Charleston Conference is tomorrow. This year’s conference is going to be amazing! In case you haven’t heard our speakers will be Darren Whitehead and Seth Buckley. The concert is going to be 3 hours long with NEWSBOYS and the WE BELIEVE GOD’S NOT DEAD TOUR with special guests Audio Adrenaline and Finding Favour. That is huge!!! Leading worship is one of your favorite groups, Roger Williams & the AMUQ.
Believe it or not we still have seats available. Please tell all your friends and churches in your community that registration has been extended and they can still register online until the seats are filled. You don’t want to miss out on attending what could be a life changing conference for you or your youth group.
It has been brought to our attention that some of the best artists in Christian music, who have appeared at our conferences in Gatlinburg, Branson or Charleston, are up for awards. On June 1 the K Love Fan Awards will be holding the awards show to honor the artists that you have chosen. We have had some of the most sought after musical artists on our stage. We ask that you take the time to vote for your favorite artist or group at http://vote.klovefanawards.com/. Some of the most recent groups we have had that are being honored are:
Casting Crowns–Artist of the Year, Group of the Year
Tenth Avenue North-Group of the Year
Big Daddy Weave-Song of the Year, “The Only Name”
David Crowder-Worship Song of the Year, “I Am”
for KING & COUNTRY-Best Live Show
NEWSBOYS (who will be with us this year)-Best Live Show, Group of the Year
They have blessed us and entertained us with their God given talents so let’s show our appreciation through voting.
We love having Hearts On Fire in Charleston, SC! 2014 was the second year of the conference and once again we were blessed. Decisions were made, lives were changed. I have had messages, since the conference, telling me decisions are still being made to follow Christ.
Many of you had the opportunity that most who attend Hearts On Fire have never had. You got to hear Scott Carter, founder of Hearts On Fire, bring the message. You also got to hear David Nasser, a great friend of ours speak. Lives were forever changed from the messages that these men brought from God.
Music was phenomenal this year with Zac Bennett and the Lift Live leading worship and concerts by Sanctus Real and The Rhett Walker Band. From Friday through Saturday the music was some of the best we have ever had at Hearts On Fire.
For those of you who have not attended the conference in Charleston you are missing a wonderful, weekend of worship. This has started off as a small conference with face-to-face time with speakers and musicians. Don’t miss the early years of Hearts On Fire Charleston, SC. One day it will be as large as the conference has grown in Tennessee, and we will look back and remember these very early years.
Thank you for all those who helped to make HOF Charleston a wonderful conference. Be watching the website for information about HOF Charleston 2015.
They say as you get older time seems to pass quicker and I can testify to that. The good thing about that, it’s not so long between conferences with our friends in Charleston.
Everything is ready and we are excited about our second year in Charleston. Two great speakers, Scott Carter and David Nasser; two awesome concerts; Sanctus Real and The Rhett Walker Band; and worship led by Zac Bennett and The Lift Live. March 14 & 15 is going to be great! Please invite churches in your area to attend.
To answer a few questions, we will have shirts available for purchase at the event. The schedule for the two day event is on our website, http://www.heartsonfireministries.org. If you have additions to your registration bring them with you and you can pay at the door. Remember we take cash or checks but no credit cards.
Please keep the conference in your prayers and we will see you on Friday.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
I wanted to remind you that deadlines are swiftly approaching.
If I could, let me give you a little analogy. Suppose you plan a dinner party and you send out invitations, but you also advertise it on Facebook and tell all your friends to invite everyone they know. You ask them to RSVP by a certain date, but that gets lost during the conversations and isn’t passed on as the invites start to flow. The hostess for the party now has a real dilemma. She really has no idea how many plan to attend, how much food to buy and prepare, how many seats, cups, plates, napkins, silverware to buy in order to prepare for her big party. She doesn’t even know if she has room for everyone. Well, that is sort of how it is in planning a conference. In planning the conference I need to know how many are coming in order to know how many people can register before we are full, how many seats we will need, how many shirts I need to order, how many volunteers I will need to make it run smoothly, and the list goes on and on.
I said all that to say this, DEADLINES ARE NEAR!
Deadline for T-Shirt Pre-Orders – Friday, February 14.
Deadline for Registration – Friday, February 28.
Deadline for T-Shirt Pre-Orders – Friday, February 28.
Deadline for Registration – Friday, March 7.
It is never too early to Register or Order your Shirts!
I am looking forward to seeing you in Charleston & Oklahoma City very soon!
